International Shipping
Every international shipment is an export and is subject to U.S. export control laws. The Office of Research Security & Export Controls (ORSEC), CU Distribution Services, and the CU-affiliated individual initiating the shipment all share responsibility in complying with U.S. export control laws.Ìý

What to Know Before You Ship Internationally
Export control laws apply to all shipments and items traveling to a foreign destination.Ìý
This includes items that are:
- sold, donated, loaned, or used in the field for researchÌý
- shipped to a recipient who is a U.S. citizen and/or Â鶹´«Ã½ employee physically located in a foreign countryÌý
- only for temporary use aboardÌý
- part of a fundamental research projectÌý
- As the exporter, you must know the intended end-use of the item being exported and work with ORSEC to confirm that (Part 744 of the EAR).Ìý
- As the exporter, you must work with ORSEC to ensure the recipient is not a prohibited party.Ìý
