Interested in sustainable building design, research facilities, energy efficiency, or the future of science and technology spaces? Join the Colorado Chapter of the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL) for its annual Education Day on Thursday, Nov. 5, at CSU Spur's Hydro Building in Denver.

The event will feature a keynote speaker, technical sessions, a moderated discussion with facility and research leaders, and opportunities to network with professionals from higher education, research, healthcare, and facility management organizations. Attendees will learn about emerging trends and best practices for creating high-performance, sustainable facilities that support research and innovation.

I am pleased to announce that Thomas Mahan has been selected as our new PMT2 for the Facilities Management HVAC Shop.

Thomas brings over six years of experience across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Most recently, he served as a Building Mechanic in Housing, where he gained valuable experience in commercial refrigeration and all aspects of HVAC system maintenance and operations.

Please join me in congratulating Thomas on his selection and welcoming him to the Facilities Management HVAC team. We look forward to his contributions and wish him continued success in his new role.

The I&R IT team will be attending an offsite cybersecurity conference from October 26-28. This conference provides valuable training opportunities that help us improve the technology services and support we provide you.

As a result, our support resources will be reduced during this period. Response and resolution times for normal-priority incidents and requests will likely be longer than usual. We encourage departments to submit requests as early as possible and plan ahead for any anticipated technology needs.

What to expect during this time:

Critical Emergencies (P1) and High Priority (P2) issues that significantly impact campus operations, life safety, or security will be addressed with the highest priority.
Normal-priority incidents, service requests, and enhancement requests will experience delays while staff are attending the conference.
If you have upcoming technology needs, please submit requests as early as possible.

For normal support requests, please continue to submit tickets through ServiceNow.

If you experience a critical issue requiring immediate attention that significantly impacts campus operations, life safety, or security, please contact OCC at 303-492-5522. OCC will follow established escalation procedures and route issues appropriately.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while our team participates in this professional development opportunity.

If you currently use text messages or phone calls to verify your identity when logging in to campus systems (Outlook, SharePoint, myCUinfo, DocuSign, etc), you'll need to update your multi-factor authentication (MFA) settings. These verification methods are being retired as part of �鶹��ý's MFA security improvements.

To check and update your verification method, follow the instructions here.

Infrastructure and Resilience will be hosting our winter employee appreciation luncheon on Wednesday, December 16^th. As always, we will be announcing our employee annual award winners. If you have noticed I&R employees working to make the campus a better place to work, study, or visit, please consider submitting a nomination for one of several awards described in the link below. Individual staff winners will receive a plaque and a $100 Visa gift card. Student winners will receive a certificate and $50 Visa gift card. Team winners will each receive a Dining Services meal card for a celebratory meal together.

And we will all enjoy a delicious lunch and a few hours together.

CU Recharge Coming to East Campus

We are excited to share that CU Recharge will be coming to the garden level of ARCE later this fall, with installation currently anticipated in November.

CU Recharge brings convenient, workplace-based strength training to faculty and staff through EGYM smart fitness equipment. Workouts take less than 10 minutes, can be completed in work clothes, and are free to use. Employee Health and Well-being and Infrastructure and Resilience have partnered to bring this additional CU Recharge location to East Campus.

To help employees be ready when the equipment arrives, Hannah Rosebraugh from EGYM is offering one-on-one onboarding sessions at the CASE building. During onboarding, participants will set up their accounts and learn how to use the equipment so they can begin using Recharge as soon as the ARCE site opens.

Employees are encouraged to use CU's free Buff Ride service for transportation between East Campus and the CASE building on Main Campus. Advance reservations can be made through Buff Ride. Learn more about Buff Ride here.

If you would like to onboard early, please contact hannah.rosebraugh@egym.com to schedule a session. She has early morning and evening sessions available.

Fall is here, which means cold and flu season is, too. Boost your well-being with a free flu vaccine – all �鶹��ý staff and faculty are eligible. Join Employee Health and Well-Being and Medical Services at any of our pop-up vaccine clinics for faculty and staff. Registration is recommended but not required, as vaccines will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note these pop-ups are only available to full-time faculty and staff. Students can schedule an appointment through their health portal.
